Our Findings

In our analysis, we found that the CTA has reduced scheduled service to better align with actual service and that improvements to service were disproportionately felt across Chicago’s community areas. In 2023, schedules were reduced to match actual service which gives the appearance of improved service.

Scheduled service changes were not felt evenly across the city.

Service decreased citywide from Nov 2022 to June 2023.

Service did not return citywide during schedules changes in March 2024.
